Welcome Mikayla Greeley, LMSW!

By: Mikayla Greeley, LMSW

Hello Everyone!

I'm Mikayla Greeley, a passionate Licensed Social Worker at Upsider Therapy. My journey began in the vibrant streets of Boston, Massachusetts, and led me to Columbia University School of Social Work in New York City. My diverse background, both professionally and personally, has deepened my empathy and understanding for those who step into my office seeking support. I'm dedicated to helping children, adolescents and young professionals navigate the complexities of interpersonal relationships, mastering coping skills, achieving work-life balance, and overcoming life transitions, anxiety, and depression.

In my practice, I meet clients right where they are in their life’s journey. I believe in the uniqueness of each individual's perspective, shaped by various life experiences that I strive to understand deeply. My approach is client-centered and strengths-based, ensuring that I am attuned to each client’s unique challenges and can craft personalized treatment plans that truly resonate with them. Flexibility and creativity are key elements of the therapeutic process. Recognizing and harnessing one's innate skillset is a journey, and I am here to guide you through it. My expertise includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. In our work together, these approaches will be tailored to meet your distinct needs.

I understand that therapy is a journey towards enhancing coping mechanisms, and I respect that progress is highly individual. Creating a safe, non-judgmental, and compassionate space is crucial. I am committed to fostering an environment where you can freely explore and process your experiences.

On top of that, building a strong therapeutic alliance is the cornerstone of positive change. Our journey begins with getting to know each other in a comfortable, natural setting. I value your feedback and encourage active participation in our sessions. Therapy is a collaborative effort, and trust is paramount for a fruitful dialogue about vulnerabilities.

Here are 3 fun facts to know about me:

  1. I worked as a barista in college and perfected the latte art "heart" pour.

  2. I have seen every episode of Friends.

  3. My favorite movie is 13 Going On 30 and I would guess I have seen it over 100 times.

Together, we will address the challenges you face, explore patterns from your past, and find effective coping strategies for the future. Taking the first step towards your goals can be intimidating, and I am here to walk this path with you. Our journey will highlight and amplify the incredible strengths you possess. I can’t wait to meet you!
